Big E Events in conjuction with Band Camp

The Marching Colonels are a vibrant and important part of the campus life, and we participate in both Traditions Night and the Turner Gate events. In addition, the schedule is set to allow students to get to know their roommates and new classmates during meals and evening activities. Freshmen students will be given the opportunity to participate in the Special Populations Connetions (Honors, specific colleges, etc.) orientations and open house. Some events, such as Zero Shades of Gray and Maximize your Buzz will be made available via video for band students to participate.

What do I need for Band Camp?

You!, your instrument, comfortable athletic shoes and plenty of water. The Marching Colonels provide Sousaphones, Marching Baritones, Marching Mellophones, Tenor Saxophones, Percussion and guard equipment. We will also provide you with music and flip folders. All equipment will be obtained when you check in Monday, August 14 (drumline and guard) or Tuesday, August 15 (winds and brass).

When do we move in?

Marching Colonel students move in to the dorms early for free. Monday, August 14 (9am-11am) for leadership, drumline and guard; and Tuesday, August 15 (9am-11am) for woodwinds and brass. The dining facility will be open in Powell during camps, so you can use your meal plan. Some meals will be provided by the Marching Colonels, check out the Summer Band Camp Schedule for more details.

Can I get a head start on music?

We are currently working on posting parts on the course Blackboard (Bb) Site. Once you have registered for MUS 256 and have your EKU ID and password, you will be able to access the class site and all the materials specific to the course.
